It's a new revolution thanks to Co-Founder and Executive Director Ms. Shantia Upshaw and Co-Founder and Manager Ms. Lakita Wiggins who are bringing us a fashion show!
"The Weight is Over Revolution" is a plus size fashion and beauty event bringing real plus size models and fashion from independent designers and retailers together.
This event will feature various independent fashion designers including:

Alter Ego Clothing
As well as popular retailers such as:
Addition-Elle /Penningtons
Ms. Shantia Upshaw
Ms. Wiggins is a strong woman on the rise who
has chosen to embody and embrace her gifts, talents and abilities to empower
others around her. She has focused on making anything out of nothing, and
brings her strong sense of detailing to the table. Her attitude allowed her to
assist in bringing The Weight Is Over to new heights as she continues to grow
and build her creative opportunities. Ms. Wiggins is truly a boss in the making.

Ms. Shantia Upshaw
Empowering, Outstanding, and Fashion
Forward are just a few words that can be used to describe Ms. Upshaw. Over the
years Ms. Upshaw has become an icon to plus size women. She has launched her
own Beauty Salon, in 2010, a well know Beauty salon that caters to all cultural
beauty needs.
Shantia Upshaw is a Canadian make-up
artist, events planner, entrepreneur, activist and advocate for plus size
women. In 2012 she was one of the faces for The Weight Is Over
Revolution-Fashion event, which was the first plus size fashion event in
Halifax.While being a mother of three
children, and despite her full schedule, Ms. Upshaw is proud to be one the
founders of The Weight Is Over Revolution –Fashion Event, a fashion show that
redefines Halifax’s fashion industry for plus size women.
Ms. Upshaw is truly a mogul in the
making.
Ms. Lakita Wiggins
Often described as a boss with a
strong mind and a mind with an old soul!
Lakita Wiggins is Full time hair
stylist by trade and the co –founder of The Weight Is Over Revolution. A young
devoted entrepreneur, Ms. Wiggins is also a leader, community advocate, fashion
director, Lead hair stylist, and a heartfelt motivator.

I first heard about this event from a friend of mine. After contacting Ms. Upshaw, it has been an amazing opportunity to talk to her about plus size fashion and this event. I am looking forward to attending this event in person and meeting other plus size divas there. I will be sure to give you a full review about the event when it is done.
